When I first had this I got contacted a lot. Mostly by other RE bloggers ;-> I began to forget to sign on to it after I had a series of login problems that it took Meebo a while to resolve. I will give them credit for calling me and trying, but it took a while. Now I have removed it because I do not like that you can't leave messages off-line. I just posted about plugoo, which allows people to leave messages when I am off-line. Will see if that makes a difference.

In theory, this is a great widget for a website but mostly for a blog. It is disconcerting when someone is "offline," especially for days, so I recommend this be used for the types that spend ample time online allowing consumers to connect with you rather than be annoyed that you are absent.

great that meebo needs no installation, not so great that it requires a login to get it to work, it should be more automated somehow... this widget needs to have a much smaller version, say 40x80 pxl size with a "click to chat" message, which will expand into a popup when someone wants to chat...

I installed the meebo widget on my blog when i was looking for a roommate for my apartment. It seemed like a cool idea but i had to be online all the time to receive communications. But as per functionality, it worked great and was easy to install. you need a meebo account to get this widget
